FFL TRANSFERS - Scroll Down For Pricing
INCOMING FFL TRANSFERS:
FFL, which stands for Federal Firearms License, is an essential certification held by various businesses, including gun shops, gun ranges, select pawn shops, and most sporting goods stores. This license grants them the legal authority to facilitate firearm transfers within their establishments. Should you intend to purchase a firearm from another FFL-licensed entity, such as a gun shop, gun range, pawn shop, sporting goods store, online store, or even a private individual, and have it shipped to our store for pickup, a Federal Firearms License Transfer (also referred to as an FFL Transfer) becomes mandatory.
To complete this process, we require a fee of $25.00 per firearm or receiver plus tax for the FFL Transfer. Please note that once your firearm is delivered to our store, it may take up to 3 business days for us to receive, process, and log it into our books before we notify you for pickup.
Upon arrival to collect your firearm, you will need to fill out an ATF Form 4473, which is essential for conducting the necessary background check. Additionally, we will request a valid form of government-issued identification during the pickup of all firearm transfers. To comply with legal requirements, your government ID must accurately display your correct legal name and current address. It is crucial to acknowledge that only the individual whose name appears on the transferred firearm's documentation is legally permitted to pick up the firearm. Moreover, you must be the original purchaser of the firearm in order to proceed with the pickup.
Please be aware that we exclusively accept firearms shipped from individuals and businesses with a valid Federal Firearms License. We solely facilitate FFL transfers from other legally licensed establishments, including gun shops, gun ranges, pawn shops, and sporting goods stores. If you, as an individual, do not possess a Federal Firearms License but wish to ship a firearm to us for an FFL transfer, it is necessary for you to bring the firearm to a local FFL-licensed gun shop, gun range, pawn shop, or sporting goods store. They can then proceed with mailing the firearm to us on your behalf.
In the event that a firearm is sent to us from a residential address or by an individual or business lacking a Federal Firearms License, it will be returned to the nearest local FFL-licensed gun shop, gun range, pawn shop, or sporting goods store at the sender's expense. This includes covering the cost of return shipping, along with a $75.00 fee to compensate for the time spent on returning the firearm. Failure to comply with this policy will result in the improperly shipped and received firearm being forfeited and turned over to local law enforcement for lawful destruction. It is important to note that Southern Country Arms bears no liability for any damages incurred to any firearms being transferred to our store. Furthermore, should you fail to accept the transfer within one year from the delivery date at our store, the firearm will be forfeited to Southern Country Arms.
OUTGOING & SHIPPING FFL TRANSFERS
When you wish to purchase a firearm from us and have it shipped to a local FFL-licensed establishment near you for pickup, a Federal Firearms License Transfer (also known as an FFL Transfer) becomes necessary. It's important to note that most items, such as ammunition, accessories, optics, and gear, can be shipped directly to you. However, firearms are an exception and cannot be shipped directly to individuals.
Firearms encompass various items, including handguns, rifles, shotguns, lower receivers, frames, and more. If you choose to purchase a firearm from us, we can ship it to your preferred local FFL-licensed gun shop, gun range, pawn shop, or sporting goods store for you to collect. Simply inform us of the specific FFL business you'd like us to send the firearm to at the time of your purchase. Upon receipt, we will verify the validity of the chosen local FFL's Federal Firearms License, and once confirmed, we will ship the firearm to them for your pickup. Please be aware that your selected local FFL may charge you an FFL transfer fee upon pickup. This fee compensates them for the time spent conducting your background check and completing the necessary paperwork to facilitate the transfer.
When you visit your chosen local FFL business to pick up your firearm, you will need to complete an ATF Form 4473, which is required for the background check process. Additionally, a valid government-issued identification is necessary for firearm pickup. Your government ID must accurately display your correct legal name and current address, as mandated by law. It is crucial to understand that only the individual whose name appears on the transferred firearm's paperwork is legally allowed to retrieve the firearm. Furthermore, you must be the original purchaser of the firearm to proceed with the pickup.
Before we ship your firearm, we recommend contacting your chosen local FFL business to inquire about their FFL transfer fee and confirm their acceptance of transfers. Additionally, please note that our standard shipping rates for firearms within the CONUS (Continental United States) are $45.00 per handgun and $55.00 per long gun. Additional shipping fees may apply for oversized and/or overweight packages.
We strive to expedite the shipment of your firearm(s) promptly. All firearms are dispatched from our in-store inventory within 3 business days of purchase using FedEx. It is important to acknowledge that once the firearm has been picked up by the postal carrier and has left our store, Southern Country Arms cannot be held liable for any damages incurred during transit.
